2010 Aston Martin V12 Vantage
2010 ASTON MARTIN V12 VANTAGE eNGINE - 6.0 V12 TRANSMISSION - MANUAL mileage - 19,500 miles
Model Overview
In 2007, Aston Martin unveiled the Vantage ‘RS’ Concept. The car originated in the Aston Martins ‘Special Projects’ department which in this case acted rather as an internal ‘Skunkworks’ producing in this case a highly experimental project that involved placing a powerful racing-derived V12 engine into the smaller, lighter V8 Vantage body. The RS Concept had a stripped-out interior, and was designed to be the fastest Aston Martin ever made. Aston Martin initially had no plans to put it into production. However, the immense customer interest and enthusiasm that followed it’s unveiling led to the development of a production V12 Vantage.
Launched in 2009, the V12 Vantage was equipped with the 510 bhp engine shared with the flagship DBS model. This replaced the 580 bhp dry-sump racing engine originally used in the Vantage RS prototype, yet was still an enormous increase in power and torque over the standard Vantage V8 engine. The idea behind the RS was classic hot-rodding - Fit a large, powerful engine into a smaller, lighter car to unlock dramatic gains in performance.
By pairing Aston Martin’s biggest engine with its most compact model, the V12-powered Vantage quickly gained critical acclaim. Most famously on an episode of Top Gear, it was described as ‘Wonderful’ ‘Wonderful’ ‘Wonderful’ by Jeremy Clarkson. Footage of this review has now reached 2.4 Million views on Youtube, further cementing the cars status as a performance icon and last of it’s kind with a V12 engine paired to a manual gearbox.
Due to the extra performance available, Aston Martin completely reworked the suspension set-up of the vantage, fitted enormous ceramic brakes and Pirrelli Corsa tyres as standard. This made the V12 Vantage a very different dynamic experience from a V8, and a true drivers car. With a kerb weight of 1,695 kg, the V12 Vantage sprints from 0–62 mph in 4.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 190 mph.
2010 V12 Vantage offered
This particular example was ordered new in 2010 to the first owner who as the story goes had seen the Top Gear review, and knew he had to have one. The spec he chose is close to perfection including Hammerhead Silver (Launch Colour) exterior Paint, gunmetal alloy fascia, and the all important rare lightweight Carbon Fibre Seats. This was an expensive car in period, with the invoice totalling some £141,000 new.
After a factory collection, he went on to keep the car always garaged until January 2021 having used it sparingly to cover on average 1,100 miles per year. When it passed into the hands of the second owner, and current vendor, the car had been maintained with no expense spared and serviced annually at an Aston Martin main dealer without exception.
Still sporting its barely worn original tyres, the car was then given a major service and recommissioning by Nicholas Mee Aston Martin in early 2021 at a cost of some £5500.00. This included a full inspection, major service, a fresh set of Pirrelli Corsa Tyres, and quicksilver secondary cat bypass.
Still always garaged and continually serviced annually with Aston Martin specialists Nicholas Mee, or at Aston Martin heritage centre Stratton Motor company, this represents a rare opportunity to acquire a collector grade V12 Vantage with an impeccable history. Any maintainance items have been dealt with as they come up, notably including a rebuild of both front headlamps in 2023.
The current mileage reads 19,500 and the service history is as follows:
